On behalf of the Britten-Pears Foundation, Lotte presents a recital of songs by Bridge and Britten with pianist Máire Carroll. They will be joined by Josh Hayward on the viola for three of Bridge’s songs: a haunting set of three works composed in 1906-07.

This season we pay tribute to Frank Bridge, Britten’s first and arguably most important composition teacher. Each recital will include a pre-performance talk looking at Bridge’s musical style and his influence on the young Britten.
